:the old rear end swap is lighter, easier, and cheaper. The only thing its not is stronger. if i knew i was never going for a turbo upgrade, i would do the rear end/hicas delete setup. :now if you are looking to go fast, the leader gears are the way to go cause breaking shafts sounds like no fun at all :Um, well, "not stronger" is one of the main reasons as well as for those of us who like HICAS handling. But how do you figure cheaper? I got two quotes 3 years ago to do the rear end swap which requires some welding and fabrication and the labor alone was more than I paid out the door total for the gears and installation which was exactly $995. How much exactly do you think you parts and labor would cost where you are to do it the old way because here in the SF Bay Area, you're looking at about $2K total for everything.
